Never Forget 0416

I'm damn NOT OK: #2

ARE YOU OK?

ARE YOU OK?

Are you OK?

I've never been OK I think. Unfortunately, it's gonna be forever.

By now movements all around South Korea. The Park Geun-hye administration has been under suspicion that she won the election illegally by using unauthorized powers, such as national organization, military organization, etc. But the only thing this government has done is a denial and a political and economical attack against peoples having the suspicion. Even the Park Geun-hye administration makes the propaganda that these all peoples are controlled by North Korea, so that this government is needed to beat them. It is totally bull-shit and nothing but McCarthyism.

By now movements all around South Korea. Many workers are on strike all around the country. Just same as the behavior of the former president Lee Myung-bak, the Park Geun-hye administration and all major journals controlled by this government announce that these all strikes are illegal and unacceptable. It is totally wrong. But this government keeps forcing not only the strikes, but also the peoples supporting and being with them to dismiss by using policemen. Moreover the government, together with companies, sues all the peoples against them and files multi-billion suits.

By now movements all around South Korea. Many peoples died already, it's not gonna stop.

Do you think you're OK? I'm damn NOT OK.

Caution

Do not read anything from the following journals.

  • THE CHOSUNILBO (조선일보)
  • KOREA JOONGANG DAILY (중앙일보)
  • THE DONG-A ILBO (동아일보)

Any sources from above journals can not be trusted. They act like a representative of the Park Geun-hye administration, nothing more.

What's happened in South Korea?

Yongsan disater

Yongsan disaster?

Over thirty people including evicted residents and members of the National Association of Evicted Residents, who opposed the government‘s compensation policy for the redevelopment of Yongsan district 4, demanded adequate compensation and protested in the Namildang building they occupied located in Hangangno 2-ga, Yongsan in the early morning of January 19, 2009. During the sit-in, a fire broke out amid a clash with the police and contractors killing 5 residents and 1 SWAT team member and injuring 23 people. This incident is referred to as the Yongsan disaster. Heated arguments rose on the cause of the accident, and many criticized the police for excessive use of force to break up the demonstration without any safety measures. However, the prosecutors concluded that it was a lawful execution of official government duty.

Ssangyong Motors

Four of the 15 deaths since August 2009 were suicides, with others stress-related and attributed to, or at least exacerbated by, the dire economic circumstances created by the sackings.

In February this year, 44-year-old Lim died of a heart attack in his room. His wife, dismayed by her husband’s dismissal from Ssangyong and the consequent difficulties, had taken her own life in April 2010. Lim had battled depression made worse by his wife’s death and was struggling to support his two children. At the time of his death he had just 40,000 won or about $37 in the bank and was 1.5 million won in debt.

The quotation from "WSWS: Growing death toll among former Ssangyong workers in South Korea"

Illegal surveillance

The public ethics division in South Korea’s Prime Minister's Office, which carried out the surveillance, was launched in July 2008 at the end of the candlelight vigils against US beef imports, a traumatic experience for the Lee Myung-bak administration. The thousands of targets appeared to share the one common trait: being potential "enemies of the president."

President Park Geun-hye under suspicion

Prosecutors confirmed that 22 million messages had been posted or retweeted from 2,653 Twitter accounts belonging to members of the NIS’s psychological operations division. But prosecutors included only 1.21 million of them in their indictment, citing personnel constraints and trial schedule issues. This means the other 20.8 million have yet to be analyzed.

The quotation from "the hankyoreh: NIS could have posted 22 million political messages online"

On October 31, President Park Geun-hye broke her long silence and spoke about the intervention in the presidential election by state agencies such as the National Intelligence Service (NIS). However, she adhered to the existing position that she "had nothing to do with" the incident, just as she had repeatedly drawn the line through previous statements made by Cheong Wa Dae and Prime Minister Jung Hong-won. Experts assessed that the president's remarks were not enough to resolve the intense confrontation currently ongoing in the political circle.

The quotation from "The Kyunghyang Shinmun: President Park, "Personally, I Have Done Nothing to Raise Suspicions": Pulls up Barrier against Alleged Intervention in the Presidential Election"

"How are you?" movements

The "how are you nowadays?" series of large hand-written posters on university campuses have become a nationwide phenomenon spanning generational, regional, and class divides. Not only university students but also high school students, office workers and housewives have been writing similar posters expressing their own awareness of the issues.
